The ground rules,
in plain terms.

1. What RoamCount is

RoamCount is a personal planning tool that helps you track days spent in different countries against thresholds you configure — such as rolling visa windows, tax-residency day counts, and residency or citizenship timelines. Your travel record is stored on your device, and you remain in control of it.

2. Not legal, tax, or immigration advice

RoamCount is an informational tool only. It does not provide legal, tax, immigration, or financial advice, and nothing in the Service constitutes such advice. Visa, tax-residency, residency, and citizenship rules are complex, change frequently, and depend on facts specific to you that RoamCount cannot know. The example rules shown in the Service are illustrations of day-count thresholds, not statements of current law.

Always verify requirements with an official government source or a qualified advisor before making decisions about travel, visas, taxes, residency, or citizenship. You are solely responsible for your compliance with any law or rule.

3. Accuracy of counts

RoamCount’s day counts depend on the data available to it — location signals, photo metadata, imports, and your manual entries — any of which can be incomplete or imprecise. Automatic detection of border crossings can miss or misplace days. You are responsible for reviewing your timeline, correcting errors, and confirming any count before relying on it. Exports generated by the Service are records of your own data, not official documents.

4. Early access

The Service is currently offered as an early access product. Features may change, break, or be removed; data formats may change; and the Service may be suspended or discontinued at any time. We may add, modify, or remove functionality, introduce paid tiers, or limit availability at our discretion. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant changes to early access participants.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Some features of RoamCount require a paid subscription, purchased through your Apple ID and billed by Apple. By starting a subscription you agree to the following:

• Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. The price shown in the App Store at the time of purchase applies, and payment is charged to your Apple ID.
• Free trial. Where offered, new subscribers receive a 7-day free trial. The trial converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store account settings (Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions). Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds. Billing and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms; refund requests must be made through Apple.

We use RevenueCat to validate subscriptions, as described in our Privacy Policy. We may change subscription prices or features prospectively; changes will not affect a period you have already paid for.

6. Your license to use the Service

Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

• copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service;
• reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code, except where such restriction is prohibited by law;
• use the Service to violate any law or the rights of others;
• interfere with or disrupt the Service or attempt to access it by means other than the interfaces we provide.

Use of the app is also subject to Apple’s standard App Store terms where applicable.

7. Your data

You own your travel data. RoamCount stores it on your device, and you can edit, export, or delete it at any time. How we handle the limited information we collect is described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups; we are not responsible for loss of data stored on your device.

8. Intellectual property

The Service — including its design, branding, text, and software — is owned by RoamCount or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory — including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that day counts will be accurate or complete.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RoamCount and its owners, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. This includes, without limitation, any consequences of visa overstays, missed tax or residency thresholds, denied applications, penalties, or similar outcomes.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim arose or fifty US dollars (US$50). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold RoamCount harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or your violation of these terms or of any law.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 2, 3, 5, and 8–11) will survive.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of India will have jurisdiction over disputes arising from them — except where the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence provide otherwise.
